Isaac del Toro Expresses Disappointment After Finishing Fifth at 2026 World Championships

Mexican cyclist Isaac del Toro has expressed deep disappointment at not securing a better result at the 2026 Road World Championships. Despite keeping himself in contention all the way to the finish line, the medals ultimately remained out of his reach.

The 22-year-old finished in fifth place in Montreal on Sunday. This performance represented a two-spot improvement over his seventh-place finish at the previous year's competition in Kigali.

Prior to competing in Canada, Del Toro had already achieved notable success in his debut at the Tour de France earlier in the year. Two months before the World Championships, he claimed a stage victory and finished third overall in the French Grand Tour.
