Christian Lundgaard Signs Multi-Year IndyCar Deal with Chip Ganassi Racing for 2027

Chip Ganassi Racing has signed Christian Lundgaard to a multi-year contract to drive the No. 9 entry starting in the 2027 season. The Danish driver will take over the car and its PNC Bank sponsorship, which Scott Dixon piloted for 25 years. The announcement confirms a driver swap between Arrow McLaren and Chip Ganassi Racing, with Dixon and Lundgaard trading seats.

Piloting the No. 7 entry this past year, Lundgaard earned two wins and seven podiums, finishing third in the overall points standings. His results have steadily improved over his five years in the series. Despite being released by Arrow McLaren earlier in the year, Lundgaard delivered his best stretch of performances while discussing options with other teams before joining an organization that has won seven of the last nine championships.

Team owner Chip Ganassi stated that Lundgaard has proven his ability to win races and possesses the potential to become the team's next championship contender. For next season at CGR, Lundgaard joins a lineup featuring five-time champion Alex Palou and Kyffin Simpson.
