SEC Teams Make History with Perfect Undefeated Record in Week 1

SEC teams made history in Week 1 of the college football season by finishing with a perfect 16-0 record. This marks the first time ever that the conference went undefeated to open the season since 1997.

In his debut as LSU head coach, Lane Kiffin led the Tigers to a decisive 51-10 victory over Clemson. LSU dominated the game, holding a 44-3 lead by the middle of the fourth quarter while accumulating 544 total yards and limiting Clemson to just 73 yards. Clemson, under head coach Dabo Swinney, struggled to establish momentum following a 7-6 finish last season.

Meanwhile, Alabama defeated East Carolina 48-10. Crimson Tide junior wide receiver Ryan Coleman-Williams recorded a team-high five receptions and 130 total yards, despite dropping two potential touchdown passes. Georgia also secured a lopsided victory under head coach Kirby Smart, defeating Tennessee State 63-3. Georgia's tight end group contributed significantly to the win, combining for six catches, 100 yards, and three touchdowns.

In other matchups, Ole Miss edged out Louisville 41-38 behind quarterback Trinidad Chambliss, who compiled 396 total yards and four touchdowns. Oklahoma opened its season with a dominant 51-0 shutout against UTEP, where the Sooners' defense registered 10 tackles for loss and four sacks.
