Adani International School Hosts ISSO National Games Chess Competition 2026

Adani International School (ADIS) is currently hosting the Indian Schools Sports Organisation (ISSO) National Games Chess Competition 2026 in Ahmedabad. This two-day championship has gathered more than 425 young chess players from over 100 schools across more than 10 states, alongside over 800 students, parents, coaches, and school representatives.

The national tournament features four age categories—Under 11, Under 14, Under 17, and Under 19—allowing participants to test their concentration, decision-making, and composure under pressure against peers from across the country. The event was officially inaugurated in the presence of Indian Chess Grandmaster Rameshbabu Praggnanandhaa, Mrs. Namrata Adani, Advisory Board Member of ISSO and Promoter of ADIS, and Gujarat's Deputy Chief Minister Harsh Sanghavi.

Highlighting the value of the sport, Mrs. Namrata Adani stated that chess teaches youth to think ahead, make thoughtful decisions, and remain composed during uncertain situations. She added that such competitions help students gain experience in disciplined preparation, confident play, and learning from every outcome.

Beyond individual achievements, the competition offers a platform for students from diverse backgrounds to connect and learn from one another. For ADIS, hosting this tournament aligns with its commitment to integrating sports into its educational approach to foster essential life skills like discipline, leadership, and sportsmanship.
