Buckeye Biddy Cross Country Race rescheduled for Oct. 1 in New Philadelphia

The Buckeye Biddy Cross Country Race has been rescheduled for Oct. 1 after extreme heat and a heat advisory forced Buckeye Career Center to postpone the event from Sept. 3. The free community cross-country event will be held on the Buckeye Career Center campus in New Philadelphia, with registration, race times, activities, and course details remaining the same.

Day-of-event registration begins at 4:15 p.m., with a DJ and inflatables starting at 5 p.m. Prekindergarten through third-grade girls race at 5:30 p.m., followed by boys at 5:50 p.m. Fourth- through sixth-grade girls race at 6:10 p.m., followed by boys at 6:30 p.m. Each finisher receives a hot dog, drink, and a commemorative finisher medal recognizing the center's 50th anniversary. The top 10 finishers in each race receive additional medals, and top-scoring teams receive trophies.

The cross-country course winds throughout the Buckeye Career Center campus and is designed by students in the Energy Operations program. Students and staff serve as course monitors, and participants may take part in career connection activities hosted by students.

Although the event is free, participants are encouraged to preregister online. Those who registered for the Sept. 3 event do not need to register again, as registrations automatically transfer to the new date.
