UCI Road World Championships in Montréal to kick off with elite time trials

The 99th edition of the UCI Road World Championships is scheduled to get underway in Montréal on Sunday, September 20. This prestigious cycling event will begin with the elite men's and women's individual time trials.

Both the elite women and men will tackle the exact same 39.9-km course around Montréal. The route will take the riders through the Gilles-Villeneuve Circuit and Parc Jean-Drapeau before they cross the Concorde Bridge to enter the city centre.

Featuring a total elevation gain of 195 metres, the course starts with a short downhill section before transitioning into flatter terrain for the majority of the race. The ultimate test for the competitors comes at the end, with a 400-metre climb at an average gradient of 6.1%, leading straight to the finish line located at Parc Jeanne-Mance.
