Tim Merlier edges Dylan Groenewegen to win Kampioenschap van Vlaanderen

Tim Merlier (Soudal-QuickStep) sprinted to victory at the Kampioenschap van Vlaanderen, claiming the title for the second time in two years. The rider narrowly defeated his rival Dylan Groenewegen (Unibet Rose Rockets) in a high-speed finish.

The race culminated in a shootout among top sprinters in Koolscamp. Merlier secured his 11th win of the season by holding off a strong charge from his Dutch rival on the far right side of the road.

Søren Wærenskjold of Uno-X Mobility finished third to complete the podium. With this second-place finish, Groenewegen now has five runner-up finishes at the Belgian race, which he last won in 2018.
