The Smith Dispatch MIPS is a premium e-bike-specific helmet aimed at urban commuters, priced at £155 / $210 / €180. Drawing from Smith's snowsports heritage, the helmet features a sleek, minimal domed shell with a built-in Microbrim visor. Despite its exceptionally solid and durable build, the helmet weighs a relatively light 394g (size L) and avoids the bulky profile typical of some other e-bike helmets. However, color choices for the latest model are limited to just matte black and matte white.

Safety is a core focus of the Dispatch MIPS, which carries the e-bike-specific NTA 8776 certification, indicating it has been tested at higher speeds and provides greater head coverage than standard helmets. To protect against impact, the helmet combines a traditional EPS liner with a rotational force-mitigating MIPS system and Smith's proprietary Koroyd technology. The Koroyd material is applied zonally to absorb impact in targeted areas. While it currently lacks a Virginia Tech safety rating, similar helmets from the brand have previously achieved five-star ratings at the reputable testing lab.

Key functional features include a magnetic Fidlock buckle for easy one-handed operation and an integrated, detachable LED rear light that adds 28g and charges via Micro USB with three lighting modes. For ventilation, the helmet utilizes eight vents, including specialized AirEvac vents designed to channel airflow and prevent eyewear from fogging up. Inside, a Vaporfit cradle offers 270-degree adjustment to reduce pressure points, while the minimal padding is treated with an Ionic+ antimicrobial lining containing silver to keep bacteria and odors to a minimum.
