Mike Woods Makes Final Career Appearance at World Championships

Mike Woods is representing Canada for one last time as he competes at the World Championships. This appearance marks the final outing of his professional cycling career.

Twelve months ago, Woods felt ready to retire as WorldTour racing had shifted from a passion into a job. His final year was heavily disrupted by crashes and injuries, while a hernia prevented him from bowing out at his home race, the GP de Montréal, as he had originally hoped.

Having changed paths to cycling later in life, Woods achieved notable success with four Grand Tour stage victories. Although many riders struggle to end their careers on their own terms, Woods is now making his final appearance on the World Championships stage.
