Marijn van den Berg wins Tour de Luxembourg stage 2 and takes race lead

Dutch sprinter Marijn van den Berg of the EF Education-EasyPost team secured a double victory on stage 2 of the Tour de Luxembourg. The 27-year-old rider launched his sprint from a long distance in Junglinster to claim the stage win and simultaneously take over the race leadership.

During the final stretch, Van den Berg powered up the right side of the road. Mathieu van der Poel of Alpecin-Premier Tech, who was the winner of stage 1, emerged and attempted to match the Dutch sprinter's acceleration.

However, Van der Poel was unable to sustain his effort, fading in the final 50 meters of the stage. He finished the race in fifth place, which left him outside of the time bonuses.
