Karlijn Swinkels Secures Victory at Grand Prix de Wallonie Dames

Karlijn Swinkels (UAE Team L'IMAD) claimed victory at the GP de Wallonie Dames after timing her final sprint to perfection at the top of the Citadelle de Namur.

The Dutch rider took the win ahead of Italian cyclist Elisa Balsamo (Lidl-Trek). Inside the final 400 metres, Balsamo had worked to close a gap to Swinkels' teammate, Eleonora Gasparrini, before Swinkels launched her decisive sprint.

The triumph marks Swinkels' second career victory at the GP de Wallonie Dames. It is also her third win of the current season and her first triumph since winning the Trofeo Binda in March.
