Final Lap of Vuelta a España Stage 21 Neutralised Over Safety Concerns

The final lap of the concluding Granada circuit on stage 21 of the Vuelta a España will be neutralised following safety concerns raised regarding the route. The decision was made after discussions between the Vuelta a España organisers and the CPA, the union representing the riders.

Under this arrangement, official times for the general classification will be recorded after the fourth of five passages across the finish line. This ensures overall standings are finalised prior to the final circuit.

Despite the neutralisation for general classification timing, the competition for the individual stage result remains in place. A stage winner will still be officially declared upon the completion of the final lap.
