Eddie Dunbar Wins Stage 19 of Vuelta a España After Long Recovery

Eddie Dunbar (Pinarello Q36.5) secured victory on stage 19 of the Vuelta a España on Friday, returning to the top level of the sport after a long road back.

During the breakaway to Peñas Blancas, Dunbar launched an explosive late surge in the final two kilometres. The move allowed him to chase down and convincingly beat Santiago Buitrago of Bahrain Victorious, adding a third Tour of Spain stage victory to his career.

The result follows a series of setbacks for Dunbar, who has frequently dealt with crashes throughout his career. In March, he was hit by a motorcyclist and suffered a broken ankle, making his return to winning form all the more significant.
