Demi Vollering Wins 2026 Elite Women's Road World Championship in Montreal

Dutch cyclist Demi Vollering claimed victory in the elite women's road race at the 2026 UCI Road World Championships in Montreal, Canada. The win secures her the world title after a demanding competition on the Canadian circuit.

The race unfolded over more than four hours of intense competition. Poland's Kasia Niewiadoma-Phinney showcased her descending skills by reaching speeds of 65 km/h and driving the pace at the front in the closing kilometers, while defending champion Magdeleine Vallieres Mill and teammate Adele Normand were forced to pull out of the race.

Following the finish, an emotional Vollering was congratulated by Niewiadoma-Phinney. Huge crowds lined the course throughout the race to cheer on the riders in Montreal.
