Demi Vollering Sanctioned by UCI Following World Championships Victory

Demi Vollering has been sanctioned by the UCI after winning the rainbow jersey at the Road World Championships.

The penalty was issued for "Using a non-compliant position or point of support on the bicycle." This violation resulted in a 1,000 CHF fine, a 25-point deduction in her UCI rankings, and a yellow card.

She was not the only rider highlighted in the commissaires' panel's post-race decisions. Austrian and Visma-Lease a Bike rider Katharina Sadnik received the exact same punishment for the same breach of regulations.
