Demi Vollering Claims Solo Victory to Defend European Road Race Title

Demi Vollering defended her women's road race title at the European Championships in Slovenia, proving her status as a dominant force in women's cycling. The victory marks the Dutch rider's first win since earning the world champion's rainbow jersey.

The decisive moment came on the final climb with 14 kilometres remaining in the race. Vollering launched an attack that allowed her to quickly break away from the main field.

Following her move, the Dutch rider established a 20-second gap over a two-rider chase group that included one of her Dutch teammates. Vollering steadily expanded her lead in the closing kilometres to secure a solo triumph.
