Cameron Rogers suffers mechanical failure at World Championships time trial

Australian cyclist Cameron Rogers suffered a serious mechanical issue during the under-23 men's time trial at the UCI Road World Championships in Montreal on Monday.

Considered one of the outside favourites, Rogers was forced to ride most of the 31.3-kilometre course in a huge gear after his chain fell off the front chainring less than 10 kilometres into the race.

Expressing his devastation, Rogers described the gearing and mechanical problem as unfortunate. He stated that he was on a very strong run, feeling extremely fast and having really good legs prior to the incident.
