Bone Biologics Expands Trial Sites

Bone Biologics Corporation announced that six hospital sites in Australia are now under agreement to participate in its first-in-human pilot clinical trial for NB1. The product combines the rhNELL-1 protein with demineralized bone matrix for use in spinal procedures. According to CEO Jeff Frelick, the expanded network increases patient access and strengthens the expectation to complete enrollment by year-end 2026.

The multicenter, prospective, randomized pilot study evaluates the safety and preliminary effectiveness of NB1 in up to 30 adult subjects with degenerative disc disease. Primary endpoints include fusion success at 12 and 24 months following surgery and changes in the Oswestry Disability Index. Findings from this study are intended to support progression to a pivotal clinical study in the United States.
