Alejandra Neira Wins Junior Women's Road Race Title in Montreal

Alejandra Neira gave Spain their third gold medal at the UCI Road World Championships after winning the junior women's road race in Montreal.

The race concluded with a hotly contested sprint involving a five-rider breakaway group. Neira showed patience, waiting until the final 150 meters to deliver a massive turn of speed and take the victory.

Her late acceleration left Italy's Matilde Rossignoli to claim the silver medal, while Anja Grossmann of Switzerland finished in third place.
