Ty Gibbs Rues Bristol Loss but Cherishes Special M&M's Tribute Weekend to Kyle Busch

The M&M's livery made its return to the NASCAR grid for the first time in four years through a partnership with Joe Gibbs Racing to honor the legacy of the late Kyle Busch. Prior to the race at Bristol, Ty Gibbs spent time with the Busch family and walked out to driver introductions alongside Brexton Busch. Gibbs dominated a significant portion of the event, leading 120 laps and maintaining his position despite sustaining minor damage during a run-in with Alex Bowman while lapping him.

The race climaxed during the final restart with nine laps remaining as Gibbs and Carson Hocevar engaged in a hard-fought battle for the lead, slamming doors heading into the turns. The contest quickly escalated into a chaotic three-wide battle involving Kyle Larson and Joey Logano. As Gibbs and Hocevar made contact again deep in Turn 3, Logano slipped through on the inside line to seal the victory, causing Gibbs to fade back to a fourth-place finish.

Despite the late loss, Gibbs expressed pride in driving the M&M's Camry and honoring Samantha, Brexton, and the Busch family. Brexton Busch observed the race from the No. 54 pit box as the battle unfolded. Reflecting on his late-race mistake in Turns 1 and 2, Gibbs humbly noted that Kyle Busch, who holds a record 23 Cup Series victories at Bristol, would have found a way to secure the win.
