Team Penske President Highlights Importance of Season-Ending Laguna Seca Win

Scott McLaughlin dominated the final race of the 2026 IndyCar season at Laguna Seca to claim victory. The result marked his first win in the past 35 races and secured Team Penske's 312th IndyCar Series victory, providing a boost for the squad throughout the offseason.

Team Penske demonstrated progress compared to the previous year, with its three drivers finishing fifth, sixth, and eighth in the championship standings. This marked a clear improvement over 2025, when Will Power was the team's top-placed driver in ninth position.

Team Penske President Jonathan Diuguid highlighted the importance of ending the season on a high note. He noted that following a crucial test at Mid-Ohio, the team delivered strong cars, securing pole position and the race victory. Diuguid stated that despite a tough season in which the team won three races, moving all cars into the top eight of the championship shows the organization is heading in the right direction across road courses, street courses, and ovals.

Looking ahead to the 2027 season, Team Penske will maintain its current driver lineup. Scott McLaughlin will remain with the team alongside Josef Newgarden and David Malukas.
