Samantha Busch Praises Ty Gibbs for Supporting Son Brexton Following Kyle Busch's Passing

Samantha Busch, the widow of NASCAR legend Kyle Busch, recently revealed on Instagram how the Gibbs family has supported her family following Kyle's sudden death in May at age 41 from severe pneumonia that progressed to sepsis. This weekend at Bristol Motor Speedway, Ty Gibbs will drive the No. 54 Toyota featuring M&Ms colors in honor of Kyle, who won two championships in 2015 and 2019 with Joe Gibbs Racing under M&Ms primary sponsorship.

In her post, Samantha recalled experiencing panic attacks after Kyle's passing and reaching out to Heather Gibbs. Heather lost her own husband, Coy Gibbs, at age 49 in 2022, just hours after Ty won the NASCAR O'Reilly Auto Parts Series championship at Phoenix. Samantha explained that Heather came over immediately to sit with her during her time of distress, providing comfort as someone who truly understood her grief.

Samantha added that Coy's son, Ty Gibbs, has been a major source of comfort and a 'big brother' figure to her 11-year-old son Brexton. Ty has spent time taking Brexton to breakfast and lunch, riding karts with him, and talking together about their late fathers. Samantha expressed deep gratitude to Mars, M&Ms, and Joe Gibbs Racing for organizing the tribute scheme on the track.
