Pedro Acosta Claims Maiden MotoGP Victory at Austrian GP

22-year-old Pedro Acosta claimed his maiden MotoGP victory with a dominant performance at the Austrian Grand Prix. Crossing the line with a 1.01-second margin, Acosta secured KTM's first win since the 2022 Thai Grand Prix on the manufacturer's home soil. The result marked the Spanish rider's first premier-class triumph in 56 attempts.

Starting fourth on the grid, Acosta briefly dropped to fifth before mounting a swift recovery. The KTM rider passed Marc Marquez, Ai Ogura, and Marco Bezzecchi to close in on race leader Jorge Martin. On lap nine of 28, Acosta executed a decisive move exiting Turn 1 to take the lead, maintaining a comfortable gap through to the chequered flag.

Jorge Martin finished second after holding off teammate Bezzecchi in the closing laps, extending his points lead at the top of the standings. Marc Marquez recovered to fifth place despite running wide on lap nine and dropping to seventh. Returning from an injury layoff, Ai Ogura finished fourth, while Alex Marquez was the race's sole retirement following a crash.
