Mesa Power Solutions Opens New $70 Million Generator Manufacturing Plant in Wyoming

Mesa Power Solutions has opened a new $70 million, 220,000-square-foot manufacturing plant in Evansville, Natrona County, Wyoming. The facility consolidates operations previously spread across seven buildings into a single location, aiming to produce between 5,000 and 6,000 standby power generators per year. Currently, the plant's first assembly line outputs roughly two generators per hour, with production expected to double to four per hour once a second line comes online.

The manufacturing process features six assembly stations designed for two hours of work each, totaling 12 hours of concurrent labor per generator. To maximize efficiency and cut down on non-value-added time, parts are strategically placed within 15 to 20 feet of workstations, wires are color-coded, and overhead cranes are used to move heavy components. In addition to the primary assembly lines, the facility houses a quality-control testing area and a refurbishment shop where old engines are disassembled, reassembled, and repainted.

Originally founded in Casper in 2014 to serve the oil and gas sector, Mesa Power Solutions relocated its headquarters to Loveland, Colorado, while maintaining its core operational base in Wyoming. Driven by soaring electricity demand from advancing technology and artificial intelligence (AI), the company has expanded into commercial and industrial markets, providing standby power for warehouses, grocery stores, data centers, and utility microgrids. The firm recently partnered with Prometheus Hyperscale to supply power for a 1.2-gigawatt data center in Natrona County.

About 30 percent of the workforce at the Evansville plant consists of military veterans, with starting pay ranging from $21 to $26 per hour and 100 percent company-paid insurance benefits. Company leaders expect total staffing at the facility to grow from 500–600 employees to around 1,000 as additional shifts are added. While Mesa Power Solutions is exploring automation and AI to streamline tasks and track movement, the company emphasized that it has no plans to use robotics to replace human labor.
