Max Verstappen Takes On 100 Rivals in Silverstone Go-Kart Event

Formula 1 world champion Max Verstappen is taking on a new challenge titled "Max vs 100," organized by Red Bull on a purpose-built kart track layout at Silverstone. The event sees the four-time F1 champion compete against 100 rivals, including athletes, celebrities, content creators, and everyday fans.

Under the event's format, Verstappen starts from the back of a 101-kart grid and has 30 laps—or a maximum of 55 to 75 minutes—to overtake all 100 competitors. Each time a driver is overtaken by Verstappen, they are eliminated from the contest. All karts are identical, weighing 85kg in total. Amateur drivers can utilize a shortcut known as a "fast lap" during the first half of the race, whereas only Verstappen is permitted to use it during the final 15 laps.

The amateur grid order is determined by a qualifying session held at 2:20pm local time. The entry list features British content creators Zac Alsop and Jack McDermott (Pieface), 2019 Love Island winner Amber Gill, and ultramarathon runner Arda Saatci. The main race is streamed live via ESPN on Disney+, hosted by comedian Mo Gilligan, and features game-inspired graphics alongside cinematic drone footage.
