Jesse Love Shares Emotional Tribute to Kyle Busch After WWT Raceway Victory

Jesse Love secured his first victory of the 2026 NASCAR O'Reilly Auto Parts season at WWT Raceway. Following his win at Gateway, the site of Kyle Busch's final Cup victory, the Richard Childress Racing driver honored Busch by displaying a No. 8 flag. Busch, a two-time NASCAR Cup champion, passed away suddenly in May at the age of 41.

During the post-race press conference, Love recalled a poignant moment ahead of the Darlington race. He noticed a calendar reminder he had set to call Busch for advice on navigating the track, only to realize he could no longer make that call. Love expressed how deeply that realization hit him, noting how much he missed having the opportunity to learn from the veteran driver.

Love also reflected on his frustration following the Charlotte race, which was the first event after Busch's passing. That race was halted at the halfway mark under caution due to fog and fluid on the track, leaving Ross Chastain in the lead directly ahead of Love. Love stated that he had been extremely determined to win that race for Busch and felt upset that the opportunity was taken away.

Praising Busch's generosity, Love highlighted that the champion owed nothing to younger competitors but was always willing to help anyone brave enough to call him for assistance. He added that Busch was a kind individual who did not receive enough credit for his willingness to support others in the sport.
