Ash Sutton Claims Record-Breaking Fifth BTCC Title at Silverstone

Starting from 12th on the grid, NAPA Racing UK's Ash Sutton delivered a remarkable comeback drive in Race 2 at Silverstone. By claiming victory along with the required fastest lap point, Sutton sealed the British Touring Car Championship title with four races remaining in the season. This triumph moves him clear of Andy Rouse and Colin Turkington to become the driver with the most championship titles in BTCC history.

The action unfolded rapidly from the opening laps, with Aiden Moffat initially taking the lead while Tom Chilton and Daryl De Leon made strong starts. However, Sutton sliced through the field to reach fourth place by the end of lap three, before passing Chilton on lap five. On lap nine, Sutton executed a decisive move past De Leon at Copse to take the lead of the race.

Behind the race leader, CPRL's Adam Morgan put on a strong display, passing De Leon on lap 14 to secure second place. At the chequered flag, Sutton sealed his title victory, with Morgan finishing second and Charles Rainford taking third to complete the podium. The remainder of the top 10 was made up of De Leon, Dan Rowbottom, Dan Cammish, Árón Taylor-Smith, Tom Ingram, Moffat, and Josh Cook.
